From the makers of the 79 Passkey comes the latest and most important tool for 360 to date, we are proud to introduce the 360 Xtractor. This tool will allow Philips Lite-On owners to dump the drive key from their drive to be able to swap their drive for another one such as a Samsung or Hitachi. The Xtractor 360 is the first tool to be released to be able to do this successfully, and it’s no surprise that it was done by Maximus. The 360 Xtractor supports connection to the PC via USB or serial if needed, but we think most people will want to use the USB feature for sure. The latest version of Maximus Toolbox is ready to support the 360 Xtractor and it will be the only tool supported by this software, so if you plan on using the toolbox, you will need one of these devices. The procedure to use this tool is not overly complicated for people used to playing around with 360 drives, the guys have also made a nice little video on how to use it which can be found on the Maximus homepage or Youtube.

The kit includes a power converter cable for the drive as well as the Xtractor device itself, so everything you need for the Philips Lite-on drives is included. If you are in the need to change Lite-On drives, this tool will be a must. Also note we have started to sell brand new Samsung MS28 drives in our service parts section at a fairly reasonable price, it would possibly be a better idea to use a brand new drive if you plan to swap from the LiteOn. The other handy thing is if you are swapping your drive is your old Philips Lite-On can be kept as a backup drive if anything goes wrong with the new one down the track, so at least the old drive won’t go to waste.
