These are a Lite-On 74850C drive converted into a 0800 v3 Kreon drive using the latest LT 0800 v3.0 firmware & 360 Power Unit from the USB Xtractor, we have been able to convert these Lite-On 74850C into an 0800 v3 Kreon DVD drive, these give the same function as a Samsung Kreon SH-D162 or SH-D163 to enable you to make legitimate backups of your original Xbox 360 titles, but unlike the original Kreon drives these LT 0800 v3 drives will give you the ability to read XGD3 titles as well. While not as practical as the original Samsung Kreon drive simply because the Lite-On has plastic stands that stop it from easily being placed in a PC, they work just as well if not better than the original Kreon drives, also the price of them is quite reasonable and lower than Kreon drive. For most just plugging the drive into your PC when needed and sitting it on top of the PC case is good enough, it’s not like you need them connected all the time, so these drives are a really good option.
Using these Xbox 360 0800 v3 Kreon drives is fairly simple, just plug the power into the back of the drive and a SATA cable to your motherboard, the Kreon drive will then show up in windows as a normal DVD reader, then you just need to install the latest version of Xbox 360 Backup Creator and use this to make legitimate backups of your original games and then burn, note you should have IMGBurn installed, as the backup creator software links to IMGBurn to make the burn of your backup on your DVD burner after you have made an image.
