Well the
NME 360 guys are finally back and this time with a real bang. The NME 360
v2 is the latest in the NME 360 range of Xbox 360 mod chip from Team
Underdog, and this time we really think there is something to be excited about.
The new NME 360 v2.0 modchip will support every single Xbox 360 drive
on the market except for the Lite-On drives. For all of you Elite owners
that have Benq 6038 drives, the NME v2.0 is the solution you have been
looking for. Not only does the NME v2.0 now support all drives except
Lite-On's, but it’s now using an Actel processor and has complete USB flash
upgrade support. So you can now expect Team Underdog to release new firmware's
for the NME 360 v2 that will promise to add handy and useful new features
to their Xbox 360 modchip.
One
of the features that we hear is in the works right now for the
NME 360 v2 is to add support for the Xtreme security sectors. This will be
a long awaited feature and sure to make the NME 360 v2 even more popular,
this will mean having to patch or convert images when using NME 360
mod chips a thing of the past. As you
can see from that example above, having a chip that is flash upgradeable
and also having a team behind it making updates with chip enhancement
features like the one above really puts the drive flashing and chipping on
the same level. We would have to say for us we believe installing a
mod chip like the NME 360 v2 will be slightly superior to flashing the
drives firmware due to the fact that the NME 360 v2 is guaranteed to never
be able to be detected, something the flash community still really can't
say for sure.

Another
great use for the NME 360 v2 is for owners of the Hitachi 79 drives, until
now you would have to either de-solder the flash ram off the board to program,
or use a 79 passskey modchip which would only allow you to put the drive into
mode B so you could flash it. Now that’s ok for those die hard fans of Xteme
firmware, but your paying nearly half the cost of the NME 360 v2.0 just to be
able to pay someone to install it and then flash the drive. In the end the price
will be around the same for passkey or NME 360 v2 installed.
Another feature that was added to the NME 360 v2 that was not on
previous NME 360 mod chip is the fact that they will now boot stealth
backups, with the latest rounds of banning from live, being able to boot stealth
backups is a must. In all
we would have to say that Team Underdog has really delivered the goods on the
new NME 360 v2.0 Xbox 360 mod chip, it has many more practicle features
over past NME 360 chips to truly make it a successor and not just a patched
up older model. Buy the NME 360 v2.0 mod chip here today!
