The Modbo 745 is compatible with v9 - v15 consoles which includes the new PSTwo Slimline 7500x & 7700x. Even though the Modbo 745 is claimed to work in earlier models like v4 - v7, we have found in most cases they won’t function on anything lower then a v9. With that said, these chips work great in v9 and above. There have been some improvements over its predecessor the Modbo v2.1, the main one being they have now managed to get the config menu and all its options to work and save. You can now go into the config menu and setup the Modbo 745 the way you want it. We also want to explain to customers that there are two producers of the Modbo range of chips, first are the guys at Modbo.com who produced the Modbo 3.0 & Modbo 4.0. Second are the guys over at Modbo2.com who produce the Modbo v2.1 and also the Modbo 745.
The Modbo 745 is a clone of the original Matrix Infinity range of PS2 mod chips. But the difference with Modbo 745 is that is now uses the latest Matrix Infinity firmware v1.54 properly. The Modbo 2.1 were not using the proper 1.54 code, but the Modbo 745 is using this Matrix code properly. One of the major improvements Modbo 745 has over other Matrix clones is its better compatibility with DVD 9 games, the Modbo 745 runs dual layer much better then older models. There are a few clones of the Matrix Infinity floating around, Modbo , AppleEx , Matrix Infinity SE and some more. The good thing about these chips is you are getting most of the functions of the original Matrix Infinity at the fraction of the cost. The Modbo 745 also has auto media detection for direct booting. Another great feature of this chip is all region DVD support. The Modbo 745 also comes with a Diode fix for the PSTwo Slimline v12. Warning the Diode fix is not a 100% solution for the PSTwo v12 syndrome. We advise for complete protection of your laser to install the SubZero fix only.
