For those of you that don’t require the whole PS3 laser mechanism like the KEM-400, these brand new PS3 KES-400AAA laser lens are a great option. The price for them is much cheaper than the KEM unit’s as well, if you know for sure the only part that has failed is the laser and not one of the other components on the drive mechanism, there is not really much point to installing a complete new mechanism like the KEM as it would be a waste of money. If you’re after a good supply of totally brand new KES-400AAA PS3 laser, these will be a perfect option. Please note that these lasers will only work in consoles that have this same type of lens installed, you should open your console to make sure you are ordering the right laser for your console, some of the newer 40GB consoles come with a 400ACA, so you should check it first. There is no longer anti-static points on these lasers, so no soldering is required for installation.
