Here we have the perfect option for those customers that have never held a soldering iron in there life, this product is a Wii solderless modchip solution for D2C console owners. We have gone ahead and soldered the D2CKey chip on to the WiiClip for you, so you don’t have to solder a single wire when buying this product, all you will need to do is disassemble the Wii console and fit the chip over the DVD controller IC and your ready to go. This is for sure the most simple and damage free way to modchip your D2C machine, you will not have to buy a soldering iron and also not run the risk of damaging your Wii when using this product. The only tool you will need for this installation is a Tri-Wing screwdriver which we sell in the Wii service parts section and a little patience and care while fitting the clip. There are plenty of Wii disassembly guides on YouTube for those that have never taken apart a Wii console before, once again just go at it with a little patience and care and soon you will be up and running without ever having to pickup a soldering iron.
We know in the past many installers have been sceptical about using clips such as these, but from the reports out there these clips work great and not many problems have been encounter at all, to be honest at first we were sceptical about these as well, this is why we waited to see how they went in the market before stocking them, so we are now confidant they work really well and don’t have any of the problems we were afraid this type of product might have. So if you’re in the market to get your D2C Wii modded and don’t have any soldering skills, or just don’t have anyone in your area that could install a chip for you, these solderless wii mod chip for d2c consoles could be your best option.
Please note that we have also bridged the jumper on these chips to enable all region support for your console, this means you will be able to play games from other regions outside of your consoles region. For example, you can play NTSC games on a PAL system. Make sure to select one of the “Console Version” options below that matches your consoles original region, this is so the chip is setup for your consoles version. For people in North America select NTSC – USA, for people with Japanese consoles select the NTSC – JAP and for people in Europe & Australia select the PAL version in the check box below.
-=WARNING=-
There has been a new Wii model released in late March 08, these new Wii have chipset called D2C2 and at this stage the only mod chips that can work with them is the D2Pro. To make things worse they are still marked with GC2-D2C on the drive chip, we have a link to a photo below that shows you how to tell the difference between a D2C and these new D2C2 drives. Unfortunately the best way to tell if you have one of these new D2C2 is to take your Wii apart and check it, or another good way to tell is if you bought your Wii in Feb 08 or earlier you will be safe, as these new D2C2 consoles were not found in the market before March. So the rule is, if you bought your Wii between late March and now, you will need to buy a solderless D2C2 chip and not this one, but if your Wii was bought before March 08, you will be safe.
