These are an official Xecuter CoolRunner LPT JTAG programming cable for programming the CoolRunner boards over LPT. These cables are more of the old school way to program the CoolRunners and will require you have a PC with an LPT port or a PCI LPT card installed in the PC. These aren’t to bad an option because for the moment to use the Nand-X to program the CoolRunners you will need to buy a programming cable for the Nand-X to CoolRunner, but before you can use that you also need to update the Nand-X to NandPro 3 firmware and to do this you need either a CK3 Pro or CK3i along with the special CK3 to Nand-X programming cable. There will be a USB cable that can update the Nand-X to NandPro 3 firmware without the need for a CK3 Pro or CK3i but they wont be released until a few weeks after the CoolRunners. These Xecuter CoolRunner LPT JTAG programming cable also come with a special CK3 CK3i to CoolRunner power cable that supply the CoolRunner with a stable power source while using these LPT cables to program the boards, we have read it maybe possible to modify these cables to pull power from the LPT port but for now we feel better in saying you should use a CK3 Pro or CK3i to power the CoolRunner while programming with these Xecuter LPT JTAG cables.
These are a high quality professionally made LPT JTAG cable made by Xecuter for those that don’t with to use their Nand-X along with their programming cable to program their CoolRunners over USB. These cables are fully compatible with the iMPACT software and have been tested with various Xilinx products that have a JTAG port including the CoolRunner. The Xecuter CoolRunner LPT JTAG cable kit also comes with a custom Xecuter CK3 power cable for the CoolRunner used while updating them over LPT.
