The team Xecuter Lite-On DG-16D5S unlocked PCB is finally here, if you want to run the LT Ultimate v1.0 firmware and have a DG-16D5S drive F/W ver 1175 or 1532 or need to replace a dead drive board then here is the solution from team Xecuter. These TX LTU replacement PCB’s work similar to the ones for the 4S drives, but there is a catch. To extract the DVD key from consoles with the Lite-On DG-16D5S drives you will have to do the RGH process using something like the DGX and nand read / write tools first to extract the DVD key to use with these unlocked boards. So this product is really only going to be for people that can do RGH already which is normally installers or people that repair consoles for a living. You are *NOT* able to use the X360USB Pro v2 to get the DVD key from Liteon DG-16D5S drives, RGH is the only way to get the key.
Now taking the above into account yes this is going to rule out a lot of people being able to install these boards themselves. Anyone that has a Slim console with a Liteon DG-16D5S drive really only has a couple of options. One is to do a full RGH on the console, but this does mean you won’t be able to go onto live again unless you have a dual nand RGH setup. The second option is to do RGH to get your DVD key and then you can install a USB loader, and the third option is you can again RGH the console to get the DVD key and then install one of these Xecuter Liteon DG-16D5S unlocked PCB’s. Now where the X360USB Pro v2 comes in is you will need one or a flashing tool like it to flash the LTU firmware or original firmware if you are doing a drive replacement onto the PCB, again you cannot get the DVD key any other way than RGH, the flashing tools are required to flash the PCB with the custom or original firmware only.
Now we just want to clear a couple of things up, when news first started going around about the TX Lite-On DG-16D5S unlocked PCB it was being said they would work on the Lite-On DG-164DS drives and also the Hitachi DLN10N so people could use the LT Ultimate firmware and boards on those drives as well. This is technically not correct, what is correct from news we saw is that these Xecuter Lite-On DG-16D5S unlocked PCB’s will only fit the 5S drives, but from what we got told it is possible to then use a 5S drive with one of the TX LT Ultimate PCB’s installed into a console that had the 4S drive or Hitachi DLN10N. Now we can’t see people with 4S drives wanting to do this just for the LT Ultimate firmware, as it would mean having to buy a 5S drive and the PCB and for people with Hitachi drives it would be the same.
So there we have it people, the TX Lite-On DG-16D5S unlocked PCB LTU is finally here. Again we can’t stress enough that to use these boards you will be required to RGH the console to get the DVD key, if you don’t know what RGH is when reading this email us and we will explain, but it’s not for the faint hearted and soldering along with tools such as the DGX, Nand-X or Corona R/W kit is required.
